Major New Event at Staunton Country Park, 24 to 25 July 2010 FREE ENTRY
The Hampshire Water Festival is taking place at Staunton Country Park, just north of Havant and promises to deliver the very best of family entertainment with a programme that explores one of our vital resources – water.
The Water Festival is a FREE event with access to all attractions at Staunton Park, including the ornamental farm, glasshouses and gardens. It will be open from 10am-5pm
The Hampshire Water Festival will be set in the stunning parkland of Staunton Country Park, where the lake, glasshouses and its proximity to Langstone Harbour makes it an ideal location. Children can enjoy the entertainment programme and activities that include pond dipping and sports activities, while thought provoking workshops will examine the way in which water resources are managed across the world – and in our own local area. projects the students have worked on throughout the summer.
Aquatic and drought resistant plants alongside water sculptures will be part of the showcase by local plant nurseries. Staunton’s famous glasshouses the world’s largest waterlily – the Victoria Amazonica, will be on display with glasshouse guided walks offered through the weekend.
Food lovers will also be catered for, with over 50 local producers featuring water themed food from watercress to fish. A range of food and drink vendors will also have a place at the event and there is plenty of ideal locations around the lake for a relaxing family picnic.
