Peter King Quartet at The Spring

Peter King Quartet at The Spring

Concert

An evening of world-class jazz. The Spring is delighted to present the legendary virtuoso alto and soprano saxophonist Peter King in a quartet setting.

At the age of 18 Peter was of such stature on the British jazz scene that he was invited to be the opening player at the newly-conceived Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in Soho. Since that early start Peter has played and/or recorded with nearly every great jazz musician throughout the world, including the USA’s Ray Charles and the UK’s Sir John Dankworth.

His superb rhythm section consists of three multi-award winning musicians, each a leading figure on their instrument: Steve Melling on piano, Geoff Gascoyne on bass and Mark Fletcher on drums.

“PETER KING IS ONE OF THE BEST MUSICIANS IN THE WORLD”

Lalo Schifrin (Argentine pianist, composer, arranger and conductor best known for film and TV scores such as ‘Mission Impossible’)
