Jane Austen and her Hampshire Family: Talk at the Spring

Jane Austen

Talks

2017 marks 200 years since the death of Jane Austen, who spent the majority of her life here in Hampshire.

She was born in the village of Steventon, and although she spent a few years in Bath, her six novels were all written here – three in Steventon and three in Chawton. Elizabeth Proudman will be discussing Jane’s childhood and her family who encouraged her to become the world-famous writer we know today.
